This is a natural Bourbon from the El Durazno farm in Honduras’ Intibucá region. It has a sweet and rich, cherry-like fruitiness with a nutty finish, like walnuts. A cozy cup that works well as both filter and espresso.

This coffee is grown by Francisco Alvarado on his farm, El Durazno, in the municipality of Masaguara, at around 1,700 metres above sea level. Francisco and his wife have worked the farm for about 15 years, and harvesting, processing, and producing the coffee is a true family effort. Over the years they have planted special varieties and paid close attention to how the coffee is pulped and dried.
Francisco is part of a group of producers in the Pozo Negro area of Intibucá, led by Rony Gámez, who are working to build a market and a reputation for their coffees. The group meets regularly to share knowledge and improve quality, and farmers deliver their parchment to a partner mill that handles packaging and milling. This setup allows high-quality micro-lots to be kept separate and traceable — something that's still rare in Honduras, where small farmers often have to sell into generic regional blends. Producers are paid in USD, which gives them a more stable income than the local currency would. We source this lot via Nordic Approach.
Harvest & Post-Harvest
This is a natural-processed lot, with the whole cherries dried carefully on the farm, which brings out the ripe red fruit sweetness. Coffees from Pozo Negro tend to have well-defined fruit notes and a softer acidity, making them very approachable for a wide range of coffee drinkers.
